Be kind. Encourage compassion. Inspire creativity. Nurture courage. Grow your mind.

for Educators

Building belonging through curiosity, compassion, and creativity.

Why We're Here

Every classroom is full of unique minds, hidden abilities, and different ways of seeing the world. Yet, students don’t always know how to celebrate those differences—or even talk about them.

That’s where Curious B.E.I.N.G.s comes in.

Inspired by the picture book Guion the Lion, our disability-informed social–emotional learning (SEL) program helps students see differences as strengths and curiosity as the first step toward connection and inclusion.

We believe that when students learn to ask why and what if, they open the door to empathy, creativity, and belonging—for everyone.

What the Program Includes

Curious B.E.I.N.G.s offers ready-to-use classroom resources for grades PreK–5 that weave together literacy, SEL, and inclusion.

Each six-lesson unit introduces key themes like:

  • Perspective: Seeing the world through someone else’s eyes
  • Hidden Abilities: Discovering your own strengths and the strengths of others
  • Celebrating Diversity: Recognizing what makes each of us special
  • Fostering Connection: Building empathy and community
  • Resilience: Learning to try again and grow through challenge
  • Belonging: Ensuring everyone feels seen, valued, and included
EDUCATOR TESTIMONIAL

"I love this lesson! I got the kids to think outside of the box and to show that not everyone is the same nor do they see everything the same. For such a young age. This was a great way to show them diversity, and being different."
Michele T.
Pre-K Teacher, Illinois
EDUCATOR TESTIMONIAL

"My class absolutely adored Guion and wanted to be just like him! They enjoyed making Guion masks and we went around looking at things in the classroom through Guion's eyes. Perception has become a common vocabulary word for us now! Very valuable!"
Holly S.
Second Grade Teacher, Colorado
